Default Knackered wheel stud thread

Today I took the wheels off the car I bought recently and found one of the nuts a tad slack. Some goon in the past has cross-threaded one of the studs on the front. *****!

Not had this experience before. Are the studs replaceable? What's involved - hub off/heat/hammer.

Thanks

Rear studs are more of an **** to swap than the fronts, hand brake mech in the way.

Caliper and disc off, and knock the old one out with a big hammer. Doesn't take much to get them out. Loacate new stud, replace disc and use a wheel nut to fix the new stud in place.
