Default Red oil light dimly lit??

Guys just a quick one, just took the 2002 wrx up to tesco and noticed when I pulled up the oil light was on but very very dim?? Gave it a little top up with oil in the car park, re started and no more light! Any theories or concerns?

Good chance it's a faulty oil pressure switch, bad connection on the oil pressure switch or poor earth on the inlet manifold.
Oil pressure warning light comes on at 2.1 psi so unless the engine has serious internal problems, then it's an external problem.

Happy New Year

I had that. Was a dirty connection. Removed the plug sprayed with electrical cleaner and re-fitted. Never came back on like that again
