400bhp turbo: Seeking the holy grail.
I'm currently running a standard TD05 90deg entry on a Finch built 2.0 V2 making a modest 320. Very happy with its performance but I'm now feeling the urge to chase horses and improve 1/4 mile times. The number I have in my head is 400 (ish) but I want the fastest spooling turbo possible at the lowest revs.
Would I be correct in thinking a ball bearing billet turbo is the ideal?
I'm considering a lateral MD321H anyone have any experience of this turbo?
Cheers

I have a sc38 on mine.
Fairly modded.
In terms of power I recently had a meth map and made 436/385

Are the SC turbo wheels ball bearing mounted?

For 400bhp I would also be looking at the MDX321H, well suited to a 2 litre engine too

Thanks, I assumed the sc range were the cheaper bushed type compressor wheel as it doesn't mention ball bearing on their website .

Look at the Blouch turbo www Think all the Dominator Turbos have ceramic ball bearings

Im reliably informed the SC36 and 38 are journal bearing, the 42 is BB. I should have rephrased my original post to 400 max. Will a the MD321 take me over 400? The weakest link on my car is the new age sti rods and open deck block.

Would like it to make 400 for longer than a few weeks, what's the reliability like?

What's it drive like? Looks laggy and the torque drops off quickly
SC42 Ts ftw

2.1 avcs. Mamba gt3076r. 550bhp rated on site. Making 435bhp at 1.5 bar boost (held back due to intercooler and wastegate issues) will see what it makes after these Changes. Considering size of turbk don't think that's laggy at all

Are the gt3071 and the gt3076 Both 500+ rated ?
How about the gt28? It would be interesting to see a graph of the 28 to see if that gets going a bit earlier

I Have the MD321H and cant fault it, I was running 415 with the old EcuTek map but having an Alkatek installed soon. The MDX range will spool a bit quicker but also another version that will give a bit more power.

i think the gt3071 is 500 and 3076 is 550. So gt28 should be 450. The specs are all a on their website

We've sold a fair few of these in varying sizes, no failures to date.
The 16G is a cracking little unit but if you're wanting 400bhp the 18G billet with the 9 blade turbine wheel should do very well indeed.
