Default Power steering - removal of cooler?

Hi,

I have a classic type r. I changed the power steering pump for a newage version. In the process I changed the HP line to a braided earls hose and also removed the cooler.

On testing this setup, all was fine but on a run (warm day but not a thrash) there seemed to be more heat than I wanted from the pump and pulleys.

Has anyone else removed their power steering cooler with no issues?

Cheers
Rich

Before with cooler pipes

Side angle of newage bottle

Final result, not sure if you can make the main pipes out

Ok so it should be fine without the cooler. I wonder if the flow is different with the braided hose feeding the rack... or it just normally runs hot and I just didnt notice before (car hasnt moved much this year), or could my belt be on too tight causing more creating excess heat?!?

Here is mine

Braided should be better in essence (I should of done that).
The belt, I just make sure I can 'twist' it by hand half turn, then that's perfect tightness IMO.
