swapping hubs from classic to blob
Question 1:
Are classic sti rear hubs the same as classic type r hubs? As in do they both have the 171mm hand brake housing and the same caliper mounts. I'm not interested in the shafts, just whether they will fit or not.
If so then move on to the next question...
Question 2:
Would a set of classic type r rear hubs (that marry up with r180 diff) fit a blob sti (with the r180 diff)?
Reason being, I have a set of rear KSports off my old version 6 sti, but they wont fit my blob.
The hand brake housing is 171mm on the discs and I need 191mm to fit on my blob. Also the caliper mounting holes don't line up.
I'm mainly concerned with getting the disc to fit, I have the right mounting bracket on its way from KSport.
Thanks

I've removed my abs so the sensors can go in the bin for all I care lol.
I spoke to Mtec about replacement drums and one minute they could, then the next they couldn't... got a bit spun in circles
The brackets couldn't be drilled, that's not an option as no material to drill thru if that makes sense. But brackets are on order from KSport.
Its just the hub issue I need to know

Getting replacement parts from KSport is a nightmare!
Also very very expensive!!
The brackets alone I've ordered are £300.
To get new rotors its £260, plus bells with hand brake drum £580
Hence why I want to make my current discs fit somehow... a couple 2nd hand hubs will work out a lot cheaper.

Was great chatting with you, solved my problem.
Use backing plates from an 03/04 wrx which marry up to the r160 rear diff as on my old classic STi.
Also they will have the 171mm hand brake assembly.
Can't thank you enuf for the advice Joe
