Default Subaru Ej20, Modified oil sump, Pics attached.

Hi guys, some may know from my build thread I had a new engine built for the car, So looking for some advice.

When I bought the car I was told it has a baffled plate fitted which isn't the case as when my mechanic removed sump off old engine to check what you see on pics is what he found.

It's a standard sump what has been modified as its had the holes welded over and also been welded down the side edges.

This would have Been done in or around 2001 times as that's when the old forge motor was built, Maybe they didn't have baffle plates back then??

Anyway my question is?

Has any one seen or used one like this before??

Shall I just buy a Rcm baffle plate and fit to current sump??

Or is it better to just start again with a fresh sump??
