Default cant decide wether to keep panel filter?

Will there be much of a power difference?

I have a k and n panel filter at the minute, but id like the wastegate chatter/flutter and been told I need a cone filter - not sure if they're called induction kits on these? Anyway, was wondering if there's any REAL benefit to having one over a panel filter? Cant justify doing it for a flutter

Fitting a cone filter won't make your wastegate do anything. There is a point when the standard airbox becomes restrictive apparently, and it's around 400bhp so I'm told.
I do know fitting them you lose a little spool for a micro increase in power so to me it's just not worth it unless you really need to

Cone needs to be big enough, many aren't, and they can cause MAF damage and failure, which results in ENGINE FAILURE!!!

Sir Bob Rawle of BRD reckons you need to map straight after fitting for any gains.

You won't get much chatter just by fitting a induction kit, and as said no gains, in fact you'll probably be down on hp compared to pannel filter on stockish mods.

Mass Air Flow sensor, measure the amount of air going in so the ecu can add the correct amount of fuel, the mafs on the 99-00 are fragile and dont like vibration or dirt which can happen with a cone filter if not mounted correctly.

If the maf does go faulty then it will pretty much run lean and be rebuild time again, so good choice
