Default Sticking throttle

I've searched this on the forums but not much has come up

Between shifts the throttle seems like it sticks a little bit as I have to force a delay before putting the clutch in, otherwise the gear change isn't smooth. These are characteristics of a fly-by-wire car, but the blob STi is definitely not.

When cold if I shift to 2nd when crawling out the road, the revs will climb to about 1900 from 1500 for about a second or two. When it's warm, they don't ever climb, they just hold for longer than they should.

Essentially, the engine speed doesn't drop as quickly as it should, and I have to allow a delay before putting the clutch in otherwise the gear change wouldn't be smooth.

Need to get this sorted, as it really annoys me unless I'm absolutely hammering it where you don't notice it.

I saw your thread about it earlier this year but it didn't come to a conclusion lol. What happened in the end, was it your icv then?

No it wasn't. It turned out to be the clutch slipping! Never would have believed it tho!

I have a spare fully working ICV if you want to try it as a process of elimination.

It idles fine. No issues at all in that regard.

When I sit still and rev it climbs and drops fine, but when I get moving its then I see the revs hold just a tad.. when it's cold the revs hold/climb for longer

Try clean throttle body out with carb cleaner,
Tbh it probably needs mapping out, has it had a map previously and any parts?

I'll do that at some point for sure.

It has PPP and a map running 330bhp from fb tuning.

Hey dude.

I was wondering if you ever got to the bottom of this one please? I've got the same thing happening at the moment and unsure what it could be. But like you, it feels like the throttle it sticking.

Thanks!

Matt

I reset the ECU and that cleared it up temporarily.

However, took it to the dyno recently who said the car in general needed a map tweak. I asked if this has anything to do the rev hang and he said it's a possibility. They're cable throttle operated, there shouldn't be rev hang like in fly by wire cars!

I will post the results once I've had the map tweaked.
