Default V3/4 newage throttle body icv conversion and newage coilpacks conversion help please!

Hi all

Im wanting to do 2 mods!

Newage throttlebody/icv conversion (as it looks neater)

And

Newage coilpack conversion

I think coilpacks wiring is pretty straightforward

Perhaps need a bit of help on the igniter wiring mods if possible

Regarding the newage throttle body conversion can it be done?

I think the tps will need reversing which is no hassle is it?!

I want to use the idle control as i want to reverse inlet and by doing this conversion it will neaten a lot up!

Cheerz

Ive got a pre rotated v3 manifold, with all the TB etc for sale. Looks neat, I wouldnt bother going newage TB. as you will need the IACV etc too I believe.

Coil pack conversion, get the looms from JTI and buy some coil packs...

a newage throttle body has the idle control valve all built in doesnt it?

how far off is wiring on newage to classic tps and iacv...will it run withtps reversal or swap and can iacv be controlled without any software changes???

what do you mean pre rotated?

do you have any pictures

thats just a v3 inlet spun round isnt it?

thats what my car has fitted now anyway

i just didnt want the idle control valve at the front because it looks **** lol

i can chop and weld if need be

its just a newage manifold looks a lot neater rotated i think so if i can use the nwage tb it would neaten it up again

It is not as simple as just fit the Idle control valve, they cannot be modified to fit another version without running a standalone ecu (V3 are solenoid type) V5- are stepper motor type.

V3 parks on key on, v5 parks on key off.

You need to then modify the ECU to be able to motor the stepper motor etc.

Thats just to get the idle control to work, let alone drive by wire and TPS etc, I believe you also will then need to go with a Syvecs as I dont think anything else can do DBW.

Your looking at alot of money just to make it a little neater

Im talking like a bug/blob tb

They are cable still so no dbw

It will be a case of getting idle control to function only i think

The tps shouldnt be a major issue as i should be able to fit my original switch or reverse wiring

I have a simtek fitted so if it is a case of integrating new style idle control to fit then i just need to know if it can be done

I dont know if there are any other mods that need doing for sensors though

You will need the ECU upgraded to run the IACV as it works on a solenoid feed at the moment, you need a time delay etc fitted for it to work with a stepper motor.

So i can run the newage tb and idle control then...bonus

Can clean up manifold that way

Any idea on price of stepper motor conversion?

Mine is an early simtek e1s part number

Dont know if it is even possible to upgrade a simtek.

My alkatek was upgraded, and custom wiring looms made up by JTI, it was not cheap....

I can have mine upgraded to alcatek so i must be able to have stepper motor mod done to

Im sure in that case i will be able to get hold of a wiring diagram if i pay for upgrade and make up a loom

It wont even be a whole loom it will be a few pins changed probably

Il have to look into it

Cheers
