Straight forward, disconnect battery remove back seat, remove cover, gently and have a rag handy remove fuel pipes(be a small spillage) remove electrical connections
Lift pump assembly out its a bit fuddly usually have to twist at an angle just take your time with it once out you will see the pump removal is easy enough, remove the original sock and re use it as ive still to see a replacement that fits properly other than a genuine subaru one.

O and be very careful of the big gasket for the top of the pump to tank if it breaks it will need replaced.

I'm planning to do this in the next month (assuming nothing else goes wrong), so I'd be really interested to hear how you get on...

I would also undo your petrol filler cap to release the pressure from the tank before you remove the pipework.

Thanks guys,I'm pretty confident in changing the pump but I am hoping the wiring supplied with the rcm pump is a simple plug and play job as it has plugs on both ends, also does anybody know if you use the fuel filter sock supplied or use the original one as advised when fitting a Walbro?
The rcm pump comes in a nice little box though with a little rcm badge on so that may end up on the car somewhere lol

Classic and you will need to change the plug(Very easy to do),newage should be plug and play.
Give Alyn at AS Performance a bell, great bloke to talk to,very helpful and he supply's the pumps at a good price.
I recently bought a 340lph RCM from him,and the sock filter is a nice long one the same as oem ones.

Cheers fella, when you say simple wiring,is it a case of putting existing plug onto new wiring supplied (power and ground)
I haven't pulled my original pump out yet as its not being mapped for another week or so
Thanks

Not sure if the sock has been upgraded then as mine fit great and loads bigger than the walbro one.
I thought it was just newage that was plug and play?
My kit came with an extra plug to fit my classic, just 2 wires(Power&ground) and all the bits/connectors you need to rewire.
