good day scooby gurus. i bought a set of NGK Laser Iridium Premium (part number IZFR6K-11S stock no: 5266) the shop owner/mechanic recommended it as the BKR6EIX-11 that is compatibe for the ej204 is not available. will this spark plug work? or should i return them? also, i was recommended mobil1 5w30 syntetic oil. i live in qatar and summer temps reach about 50's. is 5w30 suitable?

first time scooby owner here. 2 mo ths and counting.

Ive looked through my cars service record (also a 2006 hawkeye 2.0R Sport) and I had put in NKG ILFR6B spark plugs and Mobil1 5w/30 Super Synthetic Long Life oil.

But this is for Wales which is a bit colder and wetter than where you live !!

Hi dark_angel. I was lucky enough to find a fellow Filipino working for Subaru Qatar. He mentioned that yes, oem plugs are ngk platinums and they also put 5W30 synthetic oil. And since we have the same car, would you mind sending me a picture of your engine bay? I need to confirm the smallb"turbo."

 

The "small turbo" is an aux air pump - as far as I'm aware of its used for cold engine starting and idling.

Thanks a lot. I envy your bay. It's clean. Hahaha! So I guess i really have an ej204. Makes things a lot easier. Will have my first tune up tomorrow. I hate seeing this car all stock.
