Default v6 sti intercooler

getting my car mapped end of month.

ive got chance of a sti v6 intercooler.

will a remap be required for intercooler swap?

car is a uk my00 - tbh is a sti intercooler worth while doing? ie is spending 100 quid justified?

thanks.

The std UK/WRX style have a convoluted plastic turbo feed pipe which doesn't flow as well as the STi alloy/silicone set-up

Been there and done that. For £100????, not on your nellie.
I ended up with a FMIC. If I was gonna stick top mount then a new age STi item is the only place I'd be

I think you've made the right decision.

I'd also advise not going much over 300bhp with a TMIC, plus see if you can fit an intake temperature monitoring device, I have one on mine, even with an FMIC. They are cheap and cheerful, plus easy to fit.

Why do I recommend one? because I cooked my engine playing with a Celica GT4 on a french motorway, arrived at a toll booth and heat soaked it, destroyed the bottom end. And that was an STi V6 intercooler on a 300bhp classic.

I've just fitted one

But saying that i bought it for £45 off here, then sold the Y pipe and bought a Prodrive Y pipe, which cost more than the intercooler But i'm only planning to run about the 280 mark. 440 injectors, uprated fuel pump, STI intercooler.

I'd still be looking at an intake temperature monitoring device.
