Hi there, it's fine for the everyday car but I wouldn't even think about putting that in my subaru's!

ive been using cheap 10w40 semi in my Subaru for many years with no problems including that qx oil (the 10w40).
I rebuilt the engine for head gasket failure and still continue to use cheap oil, even for track use. I do replace it every 3k miles though.

Is there any reason why you wouldn't put it in your subaru though or is it because the majority on the forum say to use millers etc is there actually any difference that would cause any harm?

The majority of the forum stress that an oil change is needed every 3-5000 miles using expensive oils am I right in thinking that if the oil is being changed so regular it makes less sense to be using need the more expensive oils.

Are we just using expensive stuff because we're told to?

Don't get me wrong I haven't got a clue about this kind of thing just looking for a discussion surely a fully synthetic oil wouldn't cause any issues?

To be honest with you, I have always used the best products for the cars I have.

There's obviously a reason why they make millers and triple QX etc... The quality..

Yeah I agree I have always used the expensive oils myself and always purchased the best replacement parts.

Just interested to know if in a car that used purely to get from a to b would this cheap oil make any difference.

I will continue to buy the expensive oil for peace of mind but is it needed?

It's down to quality, I'd never put it in anything that I love, just the way I am.

I am using millers nano in my spec c, I have it serviced every 5-6 months and I hardly use it
