Default Any experience with Total Quartz 10w50 oil??

Sorry if its another oil question.

Has anyone used Total Quartz 10w50 oil for their wrx/sti? It's obviously cheaper stuff than millers 10w50 but is it any good for normal driving with the occasional spirited drive? I have a blob wrx 330bhp standard internals.

Cheers

to be honest m8 any fully synthetic oil in the mid price range will be fine as long as you pick the right grade. ive always used millers myself for my bug sti (340bhp) but the last oil change was Fuchs titan supersyn 5w-40 and it was spot on and have just bought another 5 litres for an oil change this week. mine likes a wee drink of oil these days so i dont use the dearest stuff anymore.

Cheers for the feedback. Previous owner has always used 10w50 going by paperwork. The Total Quartz 10w50 is about £30 for 5 litres so mid range stuff. May give it a try as there was positive feedback on the thread you found. Deffo right grade so may just give it a go

it will be fine bud too many people get hung up on oil. regular changes is just as important, i do mine every 7k and both this car and my previous classic wagon never missed a beat.

My forged 2.5 engine has been runing on total 10w50 since after its run in service over 10k ago.
It's a good quality oil and very well priced too, helps for regular 3k oil changes.

The Total Quartz 10w-50 will be just fine, it is a good oil. It does not contain ester like the Millers CFS and it competitors which is why it does not cost as much.

Cheers

Im using it in my Alfa Romeo 147 in an attempt to shut up a noisy variator valve. It does the job. It is, without doubt a quality oil for a road car. Alfas are notoriuos for high oil usage, the oil usage has marginally improved since moving from regular 10/40 semi.
I use 10/50 Millers Nano drive in my modded track day Impreza, as oilman said Total quartz doesn't ofter the protection qualities of an ester based oil in a high-performance car. As my car has had a recent rebuild and is in a high state of tune, I'm not going to start cutting corners by saving £10 - £20 on an oil change.
