Default Upto 450bhp but probably more like 420bhp

As a bit of a precaution and because I may well be having the heads off anyway I'm contemplating the idea of dropping in some forged pistons and rods into my car along with ACL new bearings and ARP studs.
What mods do I actually need to then need to go above 400bhp.

I'm bored of reading different crap online and still not being particularly sure what's necessary and what isn't.

it depends on what car you have, a newage sti will cope with 400bhp+ no problem without changing any internals.

depending on how you drive it, who is going to map it and how you maintain it i would say that a stock ej205 could handle 400bhp+ aswell but by no means as strong as a ej207 in the sti

You don't say what car, how old etc?

Mine is a forged 2.5 in a 98 classic, built by Harvey Smith, uses ACL bearings, FMIC, 740 cc injectors, HSTD05 20G, Harvey trick up pipe, map by Bob Rawle, and makes 400+/400+ all day.

Plus it's driveable....

Forgot to say: with a 2.5 I needed to go 6-speed, plus new clutch.

If its for the blob sti you have shown in your previous post then you'll be fine with internals just stick an sc40 or 42 and you'll be good for 400 to 430 . Obviously you'll need bigger injectors etc but blob sti internals are generally ok to run 400-450 bhp

Slowest thread reply ever 😂 I should add the car so far has an uprated panel filter, Walbro 255lph fuel pump and cat back 2.5 inch exhaust, I know I'll need to go upto 3 inch in the exhaust to run that power level.

Have been doing a bit of searching in the odd quiet moment I've had over Xmas and seen a few people running the turbo technics T36 turbos with some success aswell..

T36 is having issues with oil seals last i heard. Pop up to soobyclinic up at chesterfield and have a chat with em about options, targets and costs. An sc42, fuel pump and few other mods will see a safe 400
