Default Dump valve curiosity...

Hi all, I'm new to posting, but been reading on here for a while

So my question relates to the pictures I've uploaded.

Back in Aug I bought my first modded WRX. The previous owner had installed all modifications himself and hadn't had it remapped.

Fully decat Toyo Sports exhaust
Cold air intake from fog light area
STI V7 TMIC
HKS dumpvalve

and some handling upgrades too

So first thing I did was get it remapped. Happy days, although turned out the TD04 was on its last legs and the HKS dumpvalve was faulty and leaking loads of air. My garage popped a secondhand OEM recirc valve on instead.

Then booked it in for VF34 upgrade and 3 port boost solenoid (ended up with Turbosmart eboost2) and another remap.

This was a little while ago now and has been in for rocker cover gaskets and a major service since.

Back to my question(s) - should there be a small hose on the OEM dumpvalve that the garage stuck on? Where would it go to? or should there not be a hose ...can you see the credit card which seems to be blanking the intercooler hole behind the dumpvalve?
Also, so what goes on the end of the blanked off hose which is just behind and to the left of the dumpvalve?

I trust the garage, but I guess what they did was a quick fix that I could upgrade to something else in the future...?

Your OEM dump valve basically look to be blocked off and there for not functioning

Where the blue pipe is attached, the black one should go onto the dump valve small metal pipe.

I guess the blue pipe runs off to a boost gauge, if so I would suggest attacking it else where.

Two bolts to remove the dump valve take out the credit card and replace DV

Also the larger bunged pipe should attach to the bottom of the DV

your current set up does not have a functioning DV at all by the looks of that

Thanks Cpt Jack Sparrow

Sounds like I am running a dump valve deleted set up then.

I'm going back to OEM recirc variety as soon as.

If I do this myself, should I need any map tweaks? I'm guessing in theory the dv deleted setup should have the same amount of air in the system as the recirculating set up?
