Unhappy Gearbox/syncro probem?

Hi. This has happened twice...lets start from the top

Last week or so ago i went to get in my car to nip out, this was after a good few days of not driving it...let the car warm up as normal...go to put in gear to go aanndd "crunch" tried again and crunch..pressed the pedal a few times and hey presto it went in fine and was all good for the rest of the time, drove it a few times after that with no problems so i forgot all about it..

So today i went to nip round my mums in the scoob and go to put it in gear and "crunch" i thought here we go again, pressed the clutch a few times, no joy, waited for a minute, crunch again turned the car off and back on and it worked fine?? Drove it to my mums, left it for half hour...got back in again and it was still fine and still is fine?? Its got me stumped on what it is? Anybody any ideas? Seems to have done it when its not been drove for a few days?? Any info would be good before i spend my money on nice bits instead of fixing it

Sometimes I have to turn my engine off, put it in gear and then start it again. Only happens to mine when it's cold and it is usually reverse that it happens in.

Also check the gearbox oil level.
Leave it overnight on a flat surface.
I had a slight gearbox resistance on my last subaru.
I added 200ml of gear oil which was showing as slightly low on dipstick and every gear change was smooth after.
These gearboxes are splash lubricated so a low level may cause issues.
