Here is a graph of my mates that had a SC46 on before he went rotated and forged , got to say I hated the turbo and found it really laggy for a 420bhp Scoob but he loved it , can't remember the exact spec but could prob get it for you if needed ,, 1.7bar with tesco 99 ,, turbo still had more but this was on a standard sti8 engine so held it back a bit
out of curiosity... are these the twin scroll turbos? im looking to take my sti7 to 400hp region? but dont want to pay mad tight moneys for turbo... im in no way interested in put one of those cheap ebay ones on...
I'm seeing, general consensus of 420-430 on 2.0s when same power can be made on a sc42 with better spool.
Wouldn't mind seeing anyone's who's made more and what's spool like?
On a 2.5 I'm seeing expected figures so it's a 2.5 turbo IMO.

Basically the samller the engine the more boost you need to make comparable figures to a larger capacity engine, 1.8-1.9bar will see decent figures from an sc46 on a 2 litre

It's not what kev at scoobyclinic said though for going for 450+ on a 2.0
I tried to tell you on your other thread about going for 450+ on a 2.0L and you were dismissive. now your last post on this one is effectively agreeing with what i said. Simple rule of thumb is go for the smallest turbo possible to get the figures you're after, you seem obsessed with numbers without giving much thought to how it's going to drive. SC38 billet won't make 450 but it will get you above 400 with meth, correct supporting mods assumed, the difference being it will have power throughout the rev range not just above 4k rpm and will ultimately make for a quicker more drivable car. if you want to go for 450+ you're into a whole different ball game where there's no replacement for displacement, you're only other option is twin scroll but it's a lot of money for an extra 30 bhp, and you won't see a difference between the two head to head.

No, the problem why i dismissed you was because i asked on turbo for 450+, not less.
And best for spool.
If i wanted smaller turbo i would of asked.
Im quite aware of using a small turbo to create spool and road car, you do even know how im using the car, just asuming?.
Its upto me which turbo i want to ask about and i was asking about 450+ turbo decent spool to match, yes i know its a trade off with a bigger turbo but i want scope for more to run high boost and meth aswell. There are other turbos out there to that can do it, but i want to get people's actuall experience instead of listening to suppliers of the sc range, wink wink.

Not following you around, just offering advice. Look at the graphs, there's 2/2.5k of useable power before it starts to tail off, the car will drive like it's got an on/off switch, you'll be up and down the box like a yoyo as well as constantly thrashing it, which is something it won't like for long especially on track, i hope you have some decent cooling sorted as you're going to need it. i'll leave you to it now.
If it's the one I'm thinking that will be laggy on a 2.0. If lag is an issue on a sc46 it won't be any better on that turbo
Sorry joe, but I. Afraid I disagree with you there, I've looked at nemerous graphs on 2.0s now and the PT spools better than a sc46 would on a 2.0.
Also makes power without going high boost.
The precision is designed to do 525bhp and was also designed for larger displacement engines, I've had that from the horses mouth. if spool was an issue with a 46, this won't be a great deal better if at all. The 42 is more in keeping with how you want the car to drive. The precision and sc42 are miles different, not just in themselves but also their application.
For 450bhp on 2.0 personally I don't think the precision is the turbo for the job

The 46 is designed for a 2.5. It will make power yes but at a 500rpm cost. The pt spools 500rpm better and again 42 is again 500rpm better than PT
I've settled for in between and Tim also agrees, in fact it was him pushing me to a PT.

There doesn't seem to be many for a twinscroll set up Joe. Any ideas?
