Cleaning wheel arches, good or not?
Cleaning wheel arches, worth doing or a waste of time?
Just started cleaning the muck out of one if the arches and just wondered if it's worth doing or is it better left with a film of dirt inside? Any help or tips for cleaning would be great thanks

Dirt sat anywhere on your car is never a good idea, especially if you've got mudflaps and it sits in the gaps where they attach. A good all purpose cleaner, a long handled brush, and a jetwash make it easier to do.
Its not only the arches that need cleaning but further up in the turrets and sadly due to the way the way the classic impreza was built and not undersealed properly there are seams which let water in and so cause the rear end to be rust prone.

Mine are permanently clean! I always wash under the arches and let it dry, although the car is always garaged and even though it does see rain, its not going out in it if I can help it. The classics always seem to rust through from the inside out from under the arch. I would also suggest you periodically check for condensation in and around the rear qtr panels. Its surprising just how wet and damp it gets inside these areas.
