I'm interested in buying this gauge:

Defi Link ADVANCE CR Boost gauge 200kPa White face 52mm Blue/Amber red DF07801


I'm a little weary of electromechanical stepper motor type gauges - I had one before and didn't like its relatively languid, damped response to boost signals (much prefer pure mechanical direct hook-up to IM types).

But the bumph says that it responds extremely quickly (like a mechanical one?)... Can anyone vouch for this?

 

I have Defis and they do respond very quickly.
Plus they are easy to fit and wire and very reliable.

 

So when you stick your foot down and get into positive boost, the needle moves all but 'immediately' to the correct position (just like the rapid movement of a pure mechanical one)?

I guess I should go take a gander on YT to see any vids of it action........
