Hi all,
Took my side skirts to a local paint shop today for colour coding. But he reckons that even though he can treat the plastic ok for painting, almost immediatly stones thrown up by the tyres will break the skin of the paint, let water in underneath it and cause it to peel. My question is, is there anything I can do to stop this? or is my only option to buy those really expensive bits (no idea what there called) that fit over the leading edge's of the skirts?, I think off the top of my head they are about £325, from Graham Goode etc

I had my sill done on my last UK car & 3 years later when I sold it they hadn't cracked or peeled at all.
My STi has then painted all ready & that is 3 years old too & no cracking or peeling.
Bottom line is - if you get it done properly then it should be fine.

I had mine colour coded 6 months ago with no problems.

Side skirts, rear bumper extensions and rear bumper (mark in the paint) all colour coded for £100 bargain.

Very pleased with the results.

Had the expensive mudguard kit and colour coding done by dealer from new two years ago. No stone chip problems, or peeling, so agree with above - if done properly it should not be a problem.

I've got a sonic blue MY99. I'd like ot have the skrits, mirrors and door handles colour-coded. How much am I looking at and where is a good place to do it in the South East? Victoria - you said you got it done for £100 in the midlands - where and how good was it, how long did it take etc?

Thanks,

M.
