I've got a very slight leak on the matrix but enough to steam up the windows when i put the heater on after having it off for a few days.

before I spend £250 on a new one and spending a week taking out the dash I'm thinking of trying one of these wonder "stop leak" products.

will there be any problem sticking these in the water works or is it risky

cheers

it's not a green sport is it? personally i dont like them it's like chopping your finger off and putting a plaster on it sooner or later it will leak again.

I've had the heater matrix on my MY00 replaced twice! (Both times it took about 3 weeks to get the spares from Japan :-(

Anyway.. watch out - my problem was actually caused by faulty head gaskets, which was pressurizing water system, which split heater matrix.

Get a block test done (mechanic can detect CO in water system, which indicates head gasket problem).

My problem got worse when both cylinder heads were removed, and found to have cracks in them!

All sorted now finally.
