Hell yeah, biggest step up in perfomance you'll find, standard to remapped is like night and day. Add on a decat and should see 330ish but biggest difference is how it will respond after its done
Id dares say the fuel pump makes no odds (newer item should be more reliable long term when working a little harder) and the panel filter is probably no better than a paper filter in reality.
Had he said decat, larger injectors or full intake system then perhaps.
whats my point? I asked about mapping a standard car, not one that's had parts fitted then mapped.
so here it is again for you.... what if any gains are expected from remapping a 'standard' car
300bhp ish if cats still in place, will make a differece, advice would be decat it at same time though matey.
Panel filter is a cheap upgrade if you dont wanna go full wing mounted, but may need the fuel pump doing to give it enough fuel if its not been done already.
Sure who ever you choose to map it can advise whats needed an not

cheers Tidgy.. at least someone understands the question
Yes it would be worth it. However, considering what can be acheived with a few simple mods AND a remap, it makes remapping a stock motor a bit daft, financially.

Only idiot would ask about remap standard car where few cheap mods could give You way better result.
You spend approx 9k on UK my03 sti and **** knows why You bought standard sheep.
"1. Keep the car std but just remap for more oomph and better fuel economy.
A full custom remap will bring boost in much earlier and hold higher boost levels for longer but the map will be geared to running much more efficiently ( which is also more economically) as it wont be possible to push too much boost with both cats in place. Typically a Green/K&N/Cosworth air filter and a backbox are fitted at this stage.
With a simple remap on the standard car typically this would get the car to about 290bhp (blob eyes may make slightly more)"

whats wrong with asking a question ? who said I was mapping it standard? who said I spent 9k? standard is probably the best way to buy imo so I know whats what with the car.
