One you petrol guage (MY00) my petrol light comes on when the needle is bang on empty (horizontal).

From the moment that the light goes on, how many miles can you actually do ? My needle will actually go under the empty line. Is this classed as the reserve or am i running on fumes ?

Dunno, but if you have found a way to run on fumes let the rest of us know. Its got to be cheaper than that runny stuff I'm useing ridiculous quatities of.

 

I've had my Fiesta well below red I'm tempted to run it out, just for the crack

Apparently it's really bad to run Scoobs low on fuel cos they get fuel surge which can lead to a misfire and possibly lift off oversteer

Plus there's the usual crap in the bottom of the tank and stuff

How much do you like pushing up to the Shell by Rylands?

 

Allegedly the light comes on with 10 litres of fuel left. I find mine comes on with about 8 litres left. Depending how you drive, another 40 miles-ish.

 

Did the MY99 have a low fuel light?

 

You should get between 20 to 30 miles of driving once the Petrol Pump light comes on

Yes, the MY99 did come with a low fuel light. It seems to come on with about 9ish litres left in the tank, which will take you around 40 miles. However, don't take left-handers too hard or you will experience fuel starvation and thus the chance of lift-off oversteer.

 

Yes all my Subarus have had about 10 litres reserve past the empty line.

The all have a 60l tank so check how much fuel the car take from the empty line.
