Default pierced my intercooler :( can it be fixed hdi cooler

[IMG][/IMG]Hi everyone .
A few weeks ago I changed my bumper on my classic and had to rush putting it all back together due to rain etc .
so I put the 2(wrong size too long) bolts that hold the intercooler to bumper bar .
I forgot to put the washers in and obv my car ran like crap.
thats when I realised I'd buggered it with the bolts .

Anyway is it possible to have the top cut off and then the holes welded then all welded back up .
I can weld but not ally .so I'd rather have a pro do it .
If this would be possible how much do you think it would cost as to not out weigh the price of a new core .any help thanks steve

Barefoot running shoes? How can that be? You should start this thread again without the silly feet in the pic, you'll never get a sensible answer otherwise.

A decent welder would weld small plates over those, no probs.

Just get alu tig weld ac polarity the crack or hole up .Make sure the crack or hole is free of muck/dirt this a must or you end up with the weld blowing back alu sticking to tungsten and black porosity weld .

Yea that's what they simulate .I was going to crop the picture but thought it wouldn't matter .They are good for running though it's like having a thin rubber sheet on your feet .weird but good .

I'm going to cut it open to see the damage first .hopefully it's just worn two tiny circles where the tips of the bolts have touched and spun into it slightly .thanks

I have fixed many intercoolers and many radiators successfully and cheaply with JB weld.
Make sure you get the kwik stuff.
Job has to be clean
