Default HTA GT3582 or HTA GT3586

hello,

I am wondering which would be the better turbo for 650+ bhp. My engine will be ready at the end of this month so need a turbo ASAP.

spec of build:-

EJ257 CDB ASP
Corrillo rods
Mahle race pistons
nitrided 79mm crank
ACL race bearings
ASP 14mm head studs
RCM headgaskets
deatschwerks 1300cc injectors
SPEC C big port heads (ported more)
supertech valves springs retainers
bronze valve guides
GSC 272 cams
rcm vernier pulleys
AEM meth injection kit
rcm 11mm oil pump
gtspec headers
asp rotated kit
6 speed lsd diff
swirl pot set up
syvecs ecu with toucan wide band etc
spec c rotated inlet
perrin FMIC

could anyone help out in regards to what turbo would be best for the above set up?

I managed 666bhp with a billet scoobyclinic GT3582 on 15% meth, so if you want to do it on just v power go for the 3586

hello,
Thanks for the reply

It will be running on meth injection controled via syvecs.

So would the 3582 .82 be a better less laggy option to the 3586

Yes it would be less laggier, if you're running a syvecs I would consider a flex fuel sensor

I used a walbro 255 as a pick up pump and id2000 injectors but I would say 1300cc should flow for your target. A flex fuel sensor measures the meth content and adjusts the map accordingly ( needs mapping first) so no need to swap fuels by running the tank low as per normal

meth will not be mixed with fuel in my case it will be injected into the intake so would it be needed in that case?

I have many other sensors running with the syvecs at the moment so don't mind adding a few more lol.

What fpr are you using?

You should be fine without the flex fuel sensor in that case lol I was using a fuelab fpr always been reliable for me.

Ok bro i'll go for fuel lab. i'm also in 2 minds about a clutch. Im thinking exedy twin plate ..... or xtreme 230mm twin plate. The xtreme twin plate has alot more clamping force.

What do you recommend?

And is that a cosworth inlet i see in the pic?

I was more than happy with the exedy twin plate, quite a nice drive and handled the power no problem. Yep cossie inlet, comes into its own over 600bhp

I decided to go with the spec c 1 piece inlet manifold.... hopefully should be ok for the power i want. The reason why i asked about the clutch is that ive had a few people tell me that the exedy started causing problems after 600 for them.

what bar boost you running to get 666bhp on sc gt35? ..... is it the .63 or .82?

Personally I had no issues but I guess it all depends on your driving style, I was on a 0.82 housing.

Nice graphs!!!!!!! You keep mentioning things as though the car has now been sold lol .... have you still got it?

do you have a LSD?

Seeing as mine is a 2.5 i would want it to boost earlier than what yours did as i wont be able to rev as much as you can on the 2.35.

I mean i will be able to rev higher compared to a standard 2.5 but most of my power will be lower down

Also if you can PM me with who i should use as a mapper.

Kind of struggling who to go with and don't really want to start a thread on here lol you know how it is.

Yep sold it in september of 2013, it had a standard plated type r diff. A 2.5 should move the power band to the left so coming on earlier than a 2.35 on the same turbo.

In terms of mapping I always used Simon rip, so I would need feel comfortably recommending anyone else till I get my new build finished and then get it mapped
