ill think you'll find the hubs will line up but the rest will be different as the p1 had bigger discs on the rear and different calipers

I thought the P1 still had the crap one pot Calipers on the back as per the rest of the UK cars? Does the WRX have 2 pots?

Ah yes, I heard this too inc the type r has bigger discs at rear. Does that mean the rear Brembos bolt straight on without the handbrake shoe mod?

No, you'd still need the big handbrake shoes or else the inserts that godspeed sell. If the car originally had two pots, the Brembo caliper will bolt straight on though.

The P1 is the same as the UK Turbo for rear calipers as far as I can make out. I remember seeing one and being surprised at it having the one pot sliding jobs like my UK Turbo does/did. In this case you'd need the big handbrake shoes (or inserts) plus an adapter kit to mount the Brembo caliper.

Afaik v4 type r onwards have the subaru 2 pots on and r180 diff with 290mm discs so Brembos will be direct bolt on with larger 316mm discs and ajust handbrake to suit without the needs for handbrake spacers.
I belived the p1 of same origin is same?

I think the handbrake shoes are still too small, even the original two pot style on the better equipped cars.

Here's the Brembo fitting kit that Godspeed sell, shows that the adapters and shoes are required therefore suggesting the P1 does have one pot sliding calipers on the rear as standard:

Maybe someone with a P1 or even Ian can clear this one up lol

I was just generalising regarding type r from v4 onwards. I just assumed p1 were simlar so I couldn't confirm.
But read post 2 regarding the type r http://www.type-ra.com/subaru-forum/...version.18532/

P1 uses the small R160 hubs (as does the 99/00 STi 4door car that its based on)........

ABS, etc. is the same across all of the classic rears albeit the specific caliper is a newer style

My P1 had single pot sliders on rear, pretty sure they all did as the type r boys used to like pointing out they had 2 pots....

If you're looking to upgrade you can put new age wrx hubs on with 2 pots at the same time using r160 290mm rear discs, I used 2003wrx bits, worthwhile upgrade.... and means you don't need the conversion brackets.

Fitting a pair of bolt on brackets is a lot easier and cheaper than changing to WRX hubs though
