Default subaru standard cat(classic gc8)

Just got a standard cat for a gc8 turbo, for 6.50,probably worth that in scrap but was going to use for my 99 turbo 2000.However although same shape there is no hole at the top for the lambda sensor, instead down below the cat at the curve in the exhaust there is a long lead with a plastic 2 pin plug.Any ideas on how i can fit to my 99,do i need a different plug? a connection purchasable? any help appreciated

The 'long lead with a plastic two pin plug' is the exhaust gas temp sensor.

I thought all GC8 cat downpipes should have a hole for the Lambda sensor?
Put a photo up.

Drill a hole&weld a bung in the top of the pipe and put your sensor in. Are you sure it's from a classic? As it should already have a hole at the top.

Very early classics had lambda in exhaust collector before up pipe. Could be off early ra with cat on fire sensor.
