Default Head gasket

Morning guy's

Been a long time since ive posted but keep popping on now and again to see whats happening.

Top and bottom of it is i had the gaskets replaced on the Bug a while ago and then i noticed more or less straight away that there were still bubbles in the header tank. Ive tried bleeding , bleeding etc etc as that's what the guy (A good friend or was) told me.

I couldnt suss her and he wasnt interested after taking my money.

Anyway thats done now, ive checked the compression and the rear RHS cylinder is 30psi down on the othersn and im still getting a small amount of bubbles in the header tank, so im guesssing that its still an issue.

What i looking for as she is sat there looking sorry for herself for the past 18 months on the drive, i want to drive her again so im after someone who i can trust her with to puit her right.

Anyone got any recommendations.

Im in Blackrod (Bolton, Lancs) dont really want to drive her miles but need to some help with her..

Its a 52 plated STi bug.

Sorry for the long winded post .

Many thanks

Gary

Was it a total strip down rebuild including crank bearings?

hope it doesnt have the same issue my dads did then, 51 plate sti, fried a valve. Bottom end 'seemed' fine, not noisey etc. But he was advised to strip it and replace crank bearings while it was apart. He decided to go with it and when the stripped it they found bearing damage.

Pretty common for the bearings to go within 1000miles after the head gaskets done if they arn't replaced, hope you dont find the same but its a risk.
