Default Radiator fans stopped working

So I had a coolant leak recently and took the opportunity to change the radiator and coolant hoses. Since doing so the radiator fans don't seem to come on. I've checked the connection and all seems fine. Anything I might of missed upon swapping over?

Car is a 53 plate WRX

Thanks in advance.

As far as i am aware fans only come on when the temp gets too hot and then they will kick in ie sitting in traffic on a summer day will do the trick.

at the moment with the curent temp and usual driving the airflow would be sufficient to cool down the rad without the fans hence it be unlikely for them to come on.

Have you noticed temp gauge raising to red or boiling over rad???

if yest then you have done something wrong if not then the above should apply.

I was under the impression that with the AC on the fans would kick in, however I could be wrong!

There was a rise in temp for about a minute and then it dropped back, that only happened once and I think it was down to an air lock in the system which I now think I've sorted.

The only notable thing with the rad is that it was a little steamy once I got to work today. Not overheating or anything else, just a bit of steam coming off..

Dont know if you can do it on the newer cars , but cant you put the diagnostics mode on [like the classics] and check that way?
