Default Cel light

So my cel is on still and is not on when starting the car to read it, came on after driving home, opened the bonnet and the positive terminal clamp on the battery was almost completley off, the lights on the dash were also fading and car was near cutting out at a stand still, the battery is stone dead flat and golds no charge, would this be the cause of a random cel? Need urgent help as its due for a remap soon and I've fitted a larger alloy Sti intercooler and am hoping it's not that

It doesn't come on straight away, I jumped the car, drove it round the block with lights on etc and when coming back it was almost dead/cutting out and the cel light was on

yes you can get a CEL for low voltage or low alternator output. Get one of the bluetooth OBD readers off ebay/amazon for peanuts and see what codes you have stored. If it's classic then you can do it by jumping the green doofers under the dash.
