try using the help on this link. I used it last night to program in 2 new fobs as well as one old one.

You need to press the next button before the flashing lights finish or else the system resets well it was like that with my one anyway and both new fobs working perfect and same with the old one too.

Bear with me I'm trying to get this right in my head.
Are you typing it in exactly as it is below and starting it within 30 seconds of disarming the alarm and typing the whole lot in without breaks in between (2 or 3 secs is ok)
You should hear a beep after you have pressed the 6 I did anyway. then after the # you need to press the first key within 10-15 secs.
Once you have pressed the last on the system is reset then your good to go.
A. Using a working Radio Key:
- Arm and then Disarm the system using a working Radio Key.
- Within 30 seconds of disarming, type into the keypad- *17856*91*n# (where n is the total number of keys required to work the system)
- Press each Radio Key briefly in turn (the dash board LED will flash and the siren beep each time)
- Once the nth Radio Key has been programmed, you should be able to arm/disarm the system using any of the Radio Keys programmed.
It is essential that all Radio Keys required to operate the system are programmed together. Any keys not present during the programming sequence above will no longer operate the system.

If it is the standard Sigma alarm the keypads are notoriously poor/sensitive so the flashing you see is the pad not knowing what your trying to do.
I would use the rubber end of a pencil (instead of your finger tip) and be very precise and well timed with your correct key presses.... as if it thinks youve pressed something twice when you only wanted it once or taken too long between key presses then you will have to reset and start right back at the beginning again.
