Having a few issues deciding on what to do with this. Just discovered the downpipe i thought was standard is actually a high flow Kent customs sports cat. It has a short downpipe followed by an 18" section which is separate. This then joins the middle section. From what I gather the exhaust on the newage should be 3 piece. Does it look like my 4 piece system is the same as a classic one?

when you say 4 pieces, is it like this:


Top to bottom bits are:
Backbox
Center Section
Downpipe - Decat

And the "downpipe" bit is what you've got replaced with a highflow cat and the second part has been replaced with a straight pipe? If so this is normal enough, if its a JDM then it will be a longer classic length center section on it and a shorter downpipe is used.

If it's all aftermarket then it's also possible that someone has changed the exhaust for a UK one (assuming it's not a twin scroll that is).

Check if you have the o2 sensor behind the turbo or not or I can meet you somewhere and have a look

 

The 05 Sti wide track Jdm is a four piece system ie downpipe is two piece .The 02 sensor is just behind turbo in line with dipstick for gearbox
