Heat management
Any ideas of how much exhaust wrap Id need for headers up pipe and down pipe?
And what's the comparison like between a turbo jacket vs heat shield? Can you run both? Is it good idea to run both?

yes you can run a turbo jacket and still get the heat shield on top - just make sure when you stick the shield on it doesn't squish the jacket into the way of the wastegate arm as you'll be in trouble.
for my downpipe i bought 15m of wide (2" i think) wrap and had a little left over - you probably would get away with 10m as you don't need to bother much wrapping the lower half of it.
I have 50ft length here for the headers and uppipe but I don't think it will be enough (it's the narrower width to try and work between the pipes). Try and remove the heat shields off your standard headers to stick on your new ones and make sure your rocker cover gaskets aren't leaking as the wrap and blankets will be a fire risk if they get oil soaked.

iv got a blanket on my turbo. seems to work much much better than the heat shield.
iv got a wraped downpipe also that got drenched in brake fluid during a slave cylinder change. its smoked lot lol but never caught fire. that was 2 months ago and it still smells after a hot run.

I will still be keeping standard headers. But fully decatting my wrx and keeping the std turbo. But the reason I wanna wrap it is to give the std intercooler the best chance it can.
Some days I can do a good five miles in crawling traffic and you can see the heat pouring out.
So it seems a no brainier really??
