thinking about type RA or Type R
hello you guys,
i am building a V3 STI but well the body is actualy in such a bad shape that i am thinking of selling it all and buy a type R or RA. because i dont want to spend so much on a car that isn't in the value of welding everything in new you know.
i was looking on google and this forum but what is the real benefits over between a RA and R? the R is more stiffer but is there a lot more? because i also read that the Type R V5 limited is the one with the most options from factory. but are damm expensive. what would be the best option for me? also i dont like the P1 it is so expensive and you dont even get the good bits! except for the prodrive brakes haha! but well i got them from my v3 project..
i drive it daily, and i want to drive it on the track some times. i like the 2 door look but if the type RA is better i am sure want to take that one. i also dont mind a little project as when the car i bought will get a good treatment with refurbishing the whole bottem of the car. with some new paint!
my budget is around 4000-5000 pounds. what would you suggest would be the best?
sorry if my english is not the best but i am from holland!

i'd have the type r but insurance put me off
i can say you get a wrx ra and sti ra ,also the type r is 3 door not so sure any of the ra's are the ra also looks basic no colour coding etc and the type r has the adjustable front to rear wheel drive bias dont think the ra does. i could be wrong though
take a look here for the spec of them all http://www.type-ra.com/##

Yeah both have DCCD and neither have ABS.
The RA had a lot less as standard such as air con, elec windows, radio, skirts, spoiler but I think were all optional.
Basically same car with 2 or 4 doors. Weight difference will be minimal.
I think the RA used to be the cheaper option for a track toy but the prices are very similar now so may just be down to your personal preference.
