Default changing classic rear number plate bulbs

hi guys had a go Saturday to no avail, completely rusted over, any ideas on whats best? was thinking of removing the number plate, bending down the brackets that hold the bulbs and getting grips on the screw shaft coming through the fixings.

cheers

Jamie.

The brackets and screws are rusty pieces of crap. They just need binning. I replaced mine with aluminium brackets that I knocked up. You can get light up number plate bolts which may be ok and would mean you could bin the OE brackets.
