Default WHICH EXHAUST FOR GRP A SOUND

What would people suggest exhaust wise to give a sound as close as possible to the original 555 Grp A cars ?

I like the sound the TSL Group N one delivers but as far as I'm aware they are no longer made

My car is a MY96 WRX

Thanks

Hi there

TSL GroupN backbox has been best what we are run and sounded awesome on full chat, but we are tried several exhausts like Buddyclub SpecIV(awesome sound on full chat, but is very loud, louder than Nur Spec),Revolution(great sound and pretty quiet),HKS are my favorites and really sounds just great with ALS or LC

You can try have look for L'aunsport P555 WRC Exhaust,I think one company over in NZ making proper Group N exhaust

Thanks,Jura

I'm not sure either but think it's the down pipe that makes the lengths different front to back?

Take the back box and source a de res centre for yours?.

Bit of a faff but think you'll be on to a winner. Drop the bloke a pm as I think he was going to fit it to an RA? Might be in the know

Another vote for TSL here. I do get warnings though at drive by trackday meters so I'm considering a resonated tube to give me a little more wiggle room.

After a full decat and map (05 wrx) I then went to change my backbox from a basic prodrive oval one.Did not want angled or drain pipe, and came across the tsl group n and sourced one after 4 months.payed 90 off eBay went to collect and in mint condition. And now OMG very nice sound. The 3rd hanger is adjustable to change for both classic and newage.I was in the forest for rally GB and it barked nicely especially with launch control,a few pops and bangs. So highly recommend.

Just paid for the back box and will probably 'borrow' a centre pipe off my mate on a long term basis and do the down pipe if/as and when I map the car.

3rd hanger doesn't appear to.be on the back box looking at the pictures so a case of adding not modding

Done and currently sniffing round for a de-resonated centre section

Update

TSL is sold on as I wasn't blown away and the exit tip was a bit big for 'standard appearance' obsession thing I have going on.

Have now got a Hayward & Scott fitted which is nicer in appearance but similar in sound so centre on it's way to see if that beefs things up any.

The quest continues

P.S the worst thing is the Classic I sold to my mate and see/hear almost daily is one of the sweetest sounding Scoobs

.

I'm Really suprised you didnt get on with the TSL, I followed Yardz through a tunnel yesterday and the exhaust note was something else. I thought the TSL rolled tip was quite subtle too.

Tip was a touch large for the Classic and it didn't quite have the note I was after, nice piece of kit mind.

no debate, the only disagreement is between the knowledgable and the sioc/facebook page idiots.

unmapped decats will cause overboost and lean running which in turn will damage the engine.

or the sioc/facebbok page answer.
itt will be gud m8,my m8 dave did it and he works for nasa and his cars ok blud running 600 bhp with a td04 innit
