As the title, I'm converting a cheap TD05 that I got recently so I can fit it to my Turbo 2000 over the winter. Here goes.
Compressor housing before I start, I've marked a cut line as well: Elbow cut off:
Excess material cut from elbow:
A little bit more cut from the intake nozzle:
General tidy up of the surfaces:
Washed up and ready for welding, hopefully tomorrow:

Thanks Simon, I'm well happy with it. I cant take any credit for welding though. A very kind work colleague of my wife welded it today for a grand total of £0.
I'm getting him a bottle of Bacardi for doing it though.
Looking forward to getting it strapped on! I have a new up pipe to bolt on with it but now I'm doubting it's large diameter. Might have to go back to the drawing board on it.
Took me little over an hour to cut and shape the parts and the guy welded it in 10 minutes. My end of the job was easy. I thought it would have been worse!

yup thats where mine came from. had a vf28 on before with stock uppipe and the 16g with a harvey uppipe spools as quick if not quicker. would have loved to have tried the harvey uppipe with the 28.
I still can't work out if that goat has a top entry or front entry turbo on his car, guessing it's a front entry like my TD04. I really don't know what it is he's trying to achieve either.
Americans didn't get turbo'd GC8's, and I believe there is some law stating that some cars can't be imported until they are 25 years old. Strange folk are some Americans.
Yeah so I've seen on here but the "20K" that's repeatedly referred to also came turbocharged. The blatant lack of information and refusal to cooperate doesn't help his cause at all. If he had said "I have a N/A GC8 and would like to stick a turbo on it" then the thread might actually have been a success.
Anyway, I think I want to paint or anodise my compressor housing now. Just for the sake of it really. More to follow!
Heard a few complain about turbo lag. Not sure what turbo was on my V1 WRX but guessing it was TD05 although it was a beast to drive so not sure my have had upgraded turbo.
