Default help needed with lambda fault please guys.??

Hi guys I'm hoping someone can help me with a fault I have on my car

I own a 2001 Subaru impreza turbo import (jdm spec)

Basically when I bought the car I was informed it had a lambda fault. The car flat spots/hesitates on acceleration. Also the eml is on.
The fault code shows the fault to be the 1st probe before the cat.

Having spent all my savings plus more on the car things where a bit tight so I thought I'll pop andnl get one from the breakers yard. However there was no Subaru in sight. So I thought that if I was to find one with the same 4 wires I'm sure it would do the same job. I found one that looked identical on a jaguar x type, same colour wires etc and the probe looked exactly the same. So I brought it home and fitted it, but no luck the problem was still there. I noticed the part I took out was a denso with a part number. The one I got from the breakers was not a denso and had no part number So my questions are

Does the replacement parts have to be a denso with same part number?

Does any other car use that exact same part and part number?

Also there was a fault on the ecu about high/ low input to the tgv actuator not something. I've never heard of this but could it be causing the hesitation. It's really frustrating as I can feel the power coming in then it just dies then goes again. Really would appreciate any guidance you could give me. Thanks guys

Which sensor have you changed mate, the one under the car at the end of the downpipe or the one in the headers accessed from the front drivers wheel well ???

Its recommended to replace with denso items which can be bought new from ebay from around £90 or there are several breakers on here who can supply you with a tested used part.

What are the actual "po" codes from the ecu ??

Hi dubzy and thanks for the reply.

The codes I get for the probe are p0031 and p0032, and I'm changing the probe that is accessed at the drivers side wheel liner. The wires on it where pretty much destroyed. Does the heater circuit on the probe run off a fuse at all?

Thanks for the advice.
