Default UK Turbo - Engine Missfire

Morning All,

New to the forum so first of all hi to everyone, checked the forum out a few times and seems to be a welth of knowledge.

I have a UK Turbo on a 99 (71k) on the clock the car sat for about 2 years before i bought it and after a service and a few odds and ends it is now back on the road.

Since putting it on the road all was well (and still is sort of) until around about a week ago it developed a miss under load. Seems to be around about 2.5k.

I have ordered a new set of plugs (NGKPFR7-B) as the car has a remap and a decat system so from what i have been told they are the best plugs to buy.

While i am at it i was looking at changing the plug leads and agaion advice was to buy standard subaru leads rather than more expensive leads. But my main question is do people tend to have many issues with coil packs?

If so can anyone tell me what i am looking at buying a new set of subaru leads and a coil pack?

The car still pulls really well but just seems to be holding back around 2.5k and seems to surge too so this is why i think it may be the coil pack/plug leads/plugs.

Or if anyone else has had this issue or similar was it something else?

Cheers

Dan

maf and air filter might need cleaning or o2 sensor, does it have any codes when you connect the two blck connectors under the dash?

I will give the MAF a clean at the same time i do the plugs, i will change the plugs and clean the maf and if the problem is still there i will look at the leads and coil and then move to the o2 sensor.

9/10 there is no issue however that odd time, it is starting to annoying me when dricing.

I dont think it is the map, the map was done at clue attahowe before i bought the car.

I think it maybe more to donwith the maf as you say or the plugs, new plugs being sent today so i will try that next weekend and then Go from there.

I had this problem with mine and it turned out to be the coil pack. I got a good working second hand one from ebay for £5. A new one is nearly £200
