Default Which Pipe Does What?

Hi All,

Looking to move to a straight piece of pipe after rotating my turbo and wondering what I have to do to blank off all of the little pipes that come off the intake pipe... I know that one is where the stock recirc valve recircs to, already have this one blanked off... and I know that I will need an oil catch tank which is fine, just need to know what they all do... any help appreciated.

1)
2) Stock recirc valve return
3)
4)
5)

If it's is near the same as a 99-00.

1. Passive Crank case ventilation system vent from intake to crank case when PCV valve is closed (Car on boost).

2. As stated BOV dump.

3. PCV Rocker covers intake vents. Allows air fresh air to be drawn into cam covers and through engine out of crank case PCV.

4. Not on 99-00. So unsure. What does it connect tp?

5. Dumps boost that has been siphoned off by the boost solenoid back into intake.

Show us a pic of what it goes to and I will take a guess what it does.

Thanks guys... sounds like a big job? is it? is it worth it? am I better of just welding a nipple on to keep the fuel vapur one connected? others all go to the Oil catch tank right? so no problems there

Not that big a job
Sure there is a thread or 2 on here about charcoal canister delete .
I have to say tho , why are you trying to delete all your take off's ?
If your running moderate power ? & have a stable car there really isn't much point upsetting it ..... Fill in the blanks Sam , what's your goal

IMO you are better off with the stock breather system which uses positive crank case ventilation. This removes acidic air from the crank case which is bad for the engine. Most people just vent to atmosphere/catch can which lets pressure out but doesn't allow fresh air in or vacuum out the acidic air. Yes many people just vent to atmosphere and have no issues. But if it was this simple Subaru would have just used a piece of hose instead of designing a system with a one way valve and a proportioning valve and lots of fittings.

But if you question venting to atmosphere/catch can people who have done it will shout you to death.

In reality I am sure it will be fine. But I like to do everything I can to try and treat my engine well (probably go too far).
