Default 06 sti help

So I have a 2006 sti went mudding my maf got covered in mud I cleaned it and than it idles at 2000 and only revs to 4500 and I have to keep giving it gas for awhile to get it to 4500 rpms my exhaust had flames coming out also and engine runs very rough I need help so I know how to fix it

Did you check air filter?How did you clean MAF?

How did you get that much mud on the maf? How did you clean it? You have to be very careful indeed with the maf. I've cleaned mine a few times with electrical degreased and a cotton bud. Be very gentle and ensure no cleaning residue is left on it.

Sure no mud/dirt/debris has got further into the engine if it got as far as the maf?

Have you changed the filter?

I got maf spray cleaner is still ddry a bit I'm just trying to get it running so I can get it out of the and and to my place we're I can work on it I already spent 400 on stuff I thought it would be and I just want to make sure it's the maf why my car is running like ****

I'm not sure about the engine with mid and **** bite or runs and I figure I'd or runs and idles now or world be fine because before I had to keep giving it gas non stop just to stay at 3000 rpms

Check air filter,box,turbo inlet pipe and snorkle.............. i still can see how mud got past air filter.

If all is clean try to borrow MAF.

I got mud down my cold air intake and i just pulled my fuel injectors and they have sand on them is their anyway to flush the sand out of the engine with out talking it out
