Default Parts list for rotated set up please?

I'm considering going forit next year and going GT35r on my stroker.

So I'd like to gather parts bit by bit, them do the whole conversion in one hit.

So far I know I'll need...

gT35g
RCM rotated up and down pipe.
Different induction pipe/kit.
Gaskets and fitting kits
Modified FMIC pipework.

That's about all I know for now, I've read I'll need an external waste gate? How comes these turbos don't have one like stock location turbos?

I'd quite like a screamer pipe after hearing a few recently, is this part of the downpipe?

May aswell rotate the inlet while you are at it.

Screamers get very boring very quickly.

I should have mentioned in the first post, rotated inlet is going to be done also. Luckily I have a 99 so they just spin around.

What the reason they require external waste gates?

for better boost control, i presume some turbos do not have internal gates,

The noise will drive you insane after a week, they sound horrendous

THIS!!!,Because the bigger the turbo the more boost can be run,and it is more difficult for a internal wastegate to keep full control without flutter and boost spikes,a external wastegate is bigger and more capable of controlling the boost from bigger turbos.SJ.

Ok, I'll maybe rethink the screamer.

Thanks for the explanation guys.

I'm picking a figure out of the air here, but 600 on V Power would be nice.

600 on v power? That is an insane amount of power, is this going to be road legal?

Have you been in any high powered classics at all? 500 is plenty fast enough for a classic, 600 is just going to be insane, you can get a 10 with less than 500 too

I'm undecided whether I want to keep it road legal, but I'm thinking yes (ish)

I've been in a 600 BHP classic, and I just kept hold of my lunch. I want that, or as close as poss.

Fully stripped as it is now, it should be a bit nippy.

Oh, and I said 600 on V Power. Leaves a bit of room for the 100 or so litres of meth in my garage.

Your right,i always say that to guys when they ask me advice about getting 600 Bhp,i say have you been in a 450Bhp Subaru,as there talking about going from 310 to 600 BhpI always tell them they don't need it and that they would ****e there undies in a 500 Bhp car,as much as having that kind of power sounds good down the pub,its power that can put you straight in a grave unless you have the skill, experience, talent to manage it.SJ.

To be fair, I'm running 430 now, should be 500-520 after next mapping session.

I would get the rcm turbo and avcs (if you have it) oil feed lines also as they will make things considerably tidier and easier to fit

Nice increase, and should be easier for you to get use too,the fact that your already driving at 430Bhp.SJ.

Hi there

You will need for sure external wastegate, those turbo are not made to run without the EWG,stock location turbo have wastegate port and those don't have which is main difference, yes Borg Warner EFR have WG,but still people running them with EWG too

Screamer pipe is good, but after time you will hate this, mainly noise which screamer produce is not for everyone,if you are planning track days then I wouldn't think you will pass with screamer any track day,we didn't pass with Revolution exhaust and screamer

Screamer is not the part of the downpipe,is part of the EWG(External wastegate) and Up pipe

Please have look on this picture

600bhp is nice target, but still think nice 550bhp in the lightweight classic will be just awesome on the track or on the drag strip

On 2.1L GT35 will be laggy and I would think about the helping the spool something like NOS will help bringing spool to lower RPM

Thanks,Jura

^^ that helps a lot mate.

My main competitor next year is running 560 in a stripped MK2 Escort, which is where the 600 figure came from.

Have a look at 22B or P1Woc- Jag ("JP" / "JP4" ) is selling a rotated kit from his 2.35 Wr1 plus lots of other nice bits.

560/580 in a P1 here (2.35 / rotated GT35r). Yes, it's a bit nippy

I think 10's are a given even on my existing turbo, when its working as it should.

Unfortunately I'm not in a position to start buying yet, still recovering from the last shopping spree.

Gathering info more at this point.

^^ nice.

Be interesting to know what another 50 BHP, AVCS, full slicks and all electronic trickery would do.

What weight was the car Banny? I'm gonna gun for under a tonne.
