Default Oil cooling

Hi
I am currently breaking a wrx automatic and I realised the transmission fluid is cooled via the main radiator which holds the water, there are 2 pipes on the right side of the rad looking at it from above the front of the car am I right in thinking this would be a good way of cooling my engine oil on my track car I am building and will it work or has it been done before or tried?

So that's a no on the radiator and just use a proper oil cooler kit or are you suggesting these parts to go with the radiator thanks

Whatever you do, make sure you use a thermostatic sandwich plate so that the oil only goes through the cooler once the thermostat opens at chosen temperature... Oil being too cool can easily be worse than being too hot...

Since everyone has skirted the question

The OEM tranny cooler is not ideal. Rather get a dedicated oil cooler.

But if you are on a budget, why not.

But for a track car, the OEM radiator is weak.
