Default Closing bonnet with damper rods fitted?

You know when you fit the damper rods so as to hold the bonnet open, can you still drop the bonnet down to close it? I mean literally drop it or does it need to be push closed/shut?

The reason I ask is that the latter normally results in dents or ripples on the bonnet.

depends how hard you pull the bonnet down, with mine fitted, i can make the bonnet stay open at any height, if i pull on the bonnet catch to slam it shut it would do i guess but i always lower it slowly and then push on it to latch it, never resulted in a dent, yet lol

Even though I'm a dent tech by trade I still don't want the hassle of removing dents on my own cars. Feels like I'm at work when I do.
