New STi diffs for new WRX
#1
All the reviews on the new STi state that the diffs make the real handling difference. Is it possible to fit them to the new WRX?
If so any idea of cost? (I would guess mad money)

The words "go purchase an STI7" come into it, you would possably need the 6speed box from the 7 too (6k plus for one new!) and your diffs wont be cheap, then add a few k for labour, looks around 10k so just invest it in the better car, worth doing IMHO if your thinking of this sort of mod, better platform

I would have bought the STi if I'd known it was coming out. Now I'm tied into a lease so I'd lose my shirt if I tried to change already.
I was just curious. I figure someone will release front and rear diffs at some point in the next year.
Oh well.

You can get limited slip difs to fit a standard WRX. STi ones cost about £1,000 but you can get the Torsen type or mechanical type diffs for around £800. However, fitting is a major job.
The fitting of an lsd will change the handling significantly, and it is not the only change between the STi and WRX suspension set ups.
