High Idle Help
Hi I have a v reg 2000 Forester S Turbo UK. Now that's out the wag ill get on with it.
So I had a rough idle jumping between 750 and 1250 r pm so I had a look on the forums and decided to do all 3 of the solutions I found, clean the maf, clean the iacv, and clean the throttle butterfly. Once done I put reset the ecu and started her up straight away had an issue with MAF so I replaced with OEM not cheap one. This fixed the limp mode and the CEL now I have a high idle resting at around 1250rpm. So I decided to get a new IACV still the same, I have checked for vacuum leaks and cannot find anything, I'm now stuck and frustrated any help would be good cheers

Here you are few decent threads where/how to located it and how to replace it. The cost is a fraction of for example what you have to pay for MAF - as far as I remember I paid £13 delivered for genuine one for my FXT

May or may not be but I had an impreza that had high idle after I changed icv etc.
It turned out that someone had fiddled with throttle cable to compensate for dodgy parts.
I just adjusted cable and it was fine forever after.

Yeah my cable is fine got a nice little bit of slack but there is a throttle screw I can play with but don't wanna touch that until I've exhausted every option due to the high fuel consumption and strong smell of fuel I'm getting at the moment seems to have gotten worse the more I clean stuff
