Can only speak from experience, ive had a td05 16g, vf 35 and a tdo5 20g on 2.0l's and I would go for vf35 for the 340bhp mark if I was you, with supporting mods and a map obviously.

If however you decide to go for more ive a JMG TD05 20G for sale, practically brand new for £350

I gather you know it's not as simple as a turbo and a remap?

You need to be aware of the limits of your injectors, ecu, maf/map sensors, boost solenoid, exhaust system, intercooler, and more importantly engine internals and gearbox/clutch!

Yep mate
I've got yellow 440 injectors, afterburner header and 3"" down pipe and exhaust abit loud but sounds great, hdi front mount intercooler and a ecu with ecutek licence not sure to use it or get a fc power ecu?
After turbo and remap I'm going to build my self and engine but I'll be asking advice on that when I've got the money to buy the bits

My P1 is being mapped by JGM on 18th, few upgrades including 550 injectors just fitted but still running on the standard P1 turbo.
Would a VF35 be the upgrade I should go for.. or what about the TD05 macca has for sale?

No idea... supplied by Toyosports the listing number for them on ebay is...
eBay item number:
400624510675

But what ever the quality they must come with at least the minimum of 1 years gaurantee.... 12 months more than with a second hand used unit

410-450bhp from a 20G

Cheap ebay item and they only cover the turbo for 1 year not your engine when it goes BANG

Guess any turbo, new or used can cause engine issues, but like I said at least the unit itself being new has 365 days more gaurantee than a used unit for same money

I think you sold your anyway?

went from a td04 to td05 and the td05 pulls harder later but is laggy (as you would expect!) I still prefer the td05.

I owned a couple of Celica GT4 turbos prior to the Scooby P1, both GT4s were running well over 300bhp, but had turbo lag.

The P1 has no lag, it just goes, drop down a gear and over taking is very quick, there is no way I want a laggy turbo... so the td04 would have to be my choice

Must admit I love the td04 when I had my car mapped to 280bhp

My P1 has lightened flywheel, manifold spacers, 550 injectors, oil catchtank and competition clutch, it has no turbo lag with standard P1 turbo and the lightweight flywheel set up, I just want to get max power from the set up with no lag.
I do not know what ecu is fitted or if the engine has other mods, but will find out tomorrow when JGM set it up for me on the rolling road.
