Default bonet vents

hi people just a random questions are the two vents on the classic turbo fake?
as they have a cover on the under side are they ment to be there would taking them off get better air to the induction ? thanks in advanced

I asked this question myself a while back. The cover if removed actually decreases air flow and will make it hotter under the hood

Also, if you remove them I'd imagine the metal coolant pipes e.t.c around the engine bay would need replacing every couple of years after they've rusted through from the rain getting into the engine bay (plus the battery/wiring may not like the water ingress either).

This is not true. They are to let engine heat out, the covers are only to stop rain getting at everything.

spot on. Hence why the covers underneath have drain holes

fair play thanks for help just thought it would of been better for hard driving to add an induction vent
