Default Best Turbo Choice

Hi

I have a STI 2.5 Hawkeye from 2006 with forged pistons

I am searching and I would like to ear your opinion in this hard choice that I have!

I want more or less 380bhp from the engine, but I will retain the 2008 Top Mount Intercooler!

I already read that the original turbo can do this but is hard....

So I want to have the same spool more or less that the car have but making this power more effortless and with less pressure (lower duty from the turbo) getting less exhaust gas temps and specially less intake charge temps....

What would be your choice???

Thanks

get a billet wheel in your vf48, had mine done and it spools quicker and is running 390bhp and 425lbft. at 1.25bar.

Think they have a Vf 43 on the Hawkeye, but probably not much difference to the 48.

Anyway when you getting a FMIC and selling me yours?

I may be wrong but i think the fella who changed his to billet is not doing them any more, but if you look at tutorials on youtube it looks easy enough. Might be worth buying the kit and doing it yourself?

If your only looking for around 380bhp i would think your turbo is suitable, as iddy says get a billet wheel in it and it should be fine. From what i have read the SC38 is a good turbo but seems an unnecessary expense for what you want. Dont know much about the Tomei seem to be more popular in the states, very good price but like i say dont know much about how they fit and perform.

port polish the vf43 and retain top mount wouldn't be too far from 380 with trick up pipe, I prefer the BB core turbos give a bigger band when the hit full boost
